For this piece, I lined my studio floor with drawing paper in an effort to record the activity that took place there for the duration of my first year of graduate school. The piece not only records my activity, but also that of others as they, too, move in and through the space. Through evidence such as shoe prints, scuff marks, dropped food, and spilled coffee, the movement and presence of people is made known. A sense of place also begins to emerge, as can be seen in the empty, non-marked areas as well as in the imprints of floorboards and former walls.
