This is two-part work in which I lined my studio floor with drawing paper for each of my two years of graduate school. Studio Floor 1 was made during my first year, while Studio Floor 2 was made in a different studio during my second year. Through evidence such as shoe prints, scuff marks, dropped food, and spilled coffee, the movement and presence of people is made known. A sense of place also begins to emerge, as can be seen in the empty, non-marked areas as well as in the imprints of floorboards and former walls.
